Ottawa & District Labour Council fast facts:

 

FACT:           The ODLC is the central labour body or ‘House of Labour’ in Ottawa.

FACT:           The ODLC was founded in 1872.

FACT:           Chartered by the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) and affiliated to the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL).

FACT          The ODLC has the responsibility of carrying out the policies of the CLC and the OFL in Ottawa.

FACT:           It is the role of the ODLC to promote the goals of the labour movement in Ottawa at the municipal level.

FACT:           The ODLC represents more than 45,000 union members from 90 local unions.

FACT:           The ODLC Membership meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (except July) at 7:30 pm, 233 Gilmour Street.

FACT          You are welcome to attend any meeting as an observer.

The ODLC currently represents 90 local unions with a combined membership of close to 45,000 working men and women and it is the largest democratic and popular organization in the Ottawa area.
