Ottawa & District Labour Council fast facts:
FACT: The ODLC is the central labour body or ‘House of Labour’ in Ottawa.
FACT: The ODLC was founded in 1872.
FACT: Chartered by the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) and affiliated to the Ontario Federation of Labour (OFL).
FACT: The ODLC has the responsibility of carrying out the policies of the CLC and the OFL in Ottawa.
FACT: It is the role of the ODLC to promote the goals of the labour movement in Ottawa at the municipal level.
FACT: The ODLC represents more than 50,000 union members from 90 local unions.
FACT: The ODLC Membership meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of each month (except July) at 7:30 pm, 233 Gilmour Street.
FACT: You are welcome to attend any meeting as an observer.
The Ottawa & District Labour Council (ODLC) has been the voice of working people in the Ottawa area since 1872. The ODLC currently represents 90 local unions with a combined membership of close to 50,000 working men and women and it is the largest democratic and popular organization in the Ottawa area.
